The vest Helena is worked from top to bottom using the pearl rib technique, which consists only of knit and purl stitches. First the back piece is knitted, then the shoulder parts and finally the torso. With shortened rows, the shoulders get a slope so that gives a good fit. The lower part of the torso is slightly reduced on each side so that the shape is slightly tighter at the bottom. Rib edges are knitted along the V-neckline and armholes, with Italian cast off. Make a sample before you start knitting so you can see that the measurements for shoulders etc are correct. Choose a size that has an positive ease of about 15 cm more than your bust circumference.
