Once upon a time there was a grandmother born in the early 20th century. When the streets oozed horse droppings, seven siblings were the norm and the only respite was the slightly menacing church hour on Sundays. A time when needlework was a must to maintain the family's reputation and save the two trout that existed.
Over the years, grandmother Eina Svensson often sat alone in the kitchen with her knitting. Now in retrospect, I think that maybe it wasn't just about having to. That it gave her peace of mind with a moment to herself, that she enjoyed creating something of her own and original, that the way forward was at least as important as the goal. Eina knew nothing about mindfulness and contemplation – or did she?
My hope with Miss Svensson is that you who are looking for inspiring patterns and quality yarns have come to the right place. And that you who feel good mentally from both sustainability, creativity and your own time should have found your place for recovery. Just like Eina did.
All the best,
Miss Svensson
